Suspect Nabbed In Shooting That Killed 32-Year-Old Near Capital Region Home

A suspect is behind bars in connection with a deadly shooting in the region that claimed the life of a 32-year-old man.

The incident happened at around 3 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in Albany’s West Hill neighborhood, on Judson Street near First Street.

When officers arrived, they found Elijah Thompson with a gunshot wound to his chest.

He was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Albany Police.

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, detectives announced that Dario Lewis, age 32, was arrested and charged in connection with his killing.

Police did not speculate on a possible motive for the shooting or say whether the two men knew each other.

Lewis is charged with second-degree murder and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

He was arraigned in Albany County Criminal Court and taken to the Albany County jail.
